![]() The M2 Ultra is still 17 seconds faster than the M3 Max. In the BMW image, the M3 Max is faster than the M2 Max, while matching the M1 Ultra in terms of speed. In the first test, the CPU is used to render these images. In the CPU test, Blender uses the CPU or GPU to render three images that we’ve shown below: We should note that the Ultra chips are tested in Mac Studio desktop computers and not in laptops. As for the M3 Max, it is 65% faster than the M2 Max, while also being 8% faster than the M2 Ultra. The M1 Ultra is still 10% faster than the M2 Max, despite having 26 more GPU cores. The Cinebench 2024 benchmark tests the GPU using Maxon’s Redshift rendering engine. Here are all the tests that we managed to find, with explanations below: As it turns out, there are more images from the same tester, who managed to test the CPU and GPU capabilities in other benchmarks too. ![]() Well, we couldn’t stop there and dug around to see if we could find more information about the results of the M3 chips. We recently tested the new MSI Vector GP78 with the Intel Core i9-13980HX at 157W Max Turbo Power and it scored 1738 points on Cinebench 2024, so the result of M3 Max is truly astonishing. This is still okay, as the MacBook Pro laptops arrive with a 140W power adapter, so the chip can go as high as 60 or 70W while leaving enough juice for powering up the display and the rest of the components. What’s more interesting is that the chip draws a lot more power, reaching 51W at peak, which is a 59% increase. If these numbers are correct, the M3 Max is 61% faster than the M2 Max in the 3D rendering benchmark. It shows the results of the Apple M3 and M3 Max chips, as well as the results of the M2 Max and M2 Ultra, for the sake of comparison.įrom what we can see, there’s a sizeable improvement from the M2 Max to the M3 Max. ![]() The image comes from Taiwanese social media Dcard. ![]() Cinebench 2024 results of Apple’s M3 chips have finally been brought to light, albeit it’s been done a bit under the table, as leakers again are at the forefront. ![]()
